A Quick Note on Post Secondary & Scholarship Deadlines/Applications
The Wolf Creek Career Centre website contains a variety of information and links to resources geared toward assisting grade 12 students as they explore their post grade 12 options. It is a starting point for students to begin researching career possibilities, post secondary schools and scholarships.  We endeavor to keep the information current and complete, however, ultimately the grade 12 student is responsible to get involved in researching their options. Here are a couple of quick tips to help you in your search:

Post Secondary Institutions:

1.  Check the University/College website often for program information applications & deadlines. Check out the [http://cc.wolfcreek.ab.ca/ABPostSecondary] Alberta Post Secondary link.  Check the calendar for application acceptance dates for 2011-12. Most university applications are now completed on online. Deadline dates for colleges and university applications will be posted on the calendar.  For more information, go directly online to the Post Secondary Institution you are interested in attending.

2.  Post Secondary Applications - You will be applying for most Alberta Post Secondary Institutions through ApplyAlberta.  The website is www.applyalberta.ca.

Scholarships:

3.  There are a PILE of scholarships out there.  A great starting point is with the [http://cc.wolfcreek.ab.ca/ScholarshipResources] scholarship resources. Check out the scholarship links for your school as well as the broader area scholarship categories.  Another great starting point is with the [http://www.alis.gov.ab.ca/scholarships/main.asp] ALIS Website. Note that there are WAY too many scholarships for us to keep track of.  Most applications are now online.  Be sure to do your research!

4. If you need help filling out Post Secondary/Scholarship applications - go see the Career Counselor or Administrator in your school.

Residence:

5.  Are you planning to live in residence? Do not wait for acceptance into a Post Secondary Institution. Once you apply to a Post Secondary Institution, you should also apply for residence.
